Developing through Adversity - August 2021

Amidst a pandemic, a potential civil war and a rainy season, the school continues to grow and our children continue to learn.

The good news is that our partner charity, Together We Learn has just received a grant for £36,000 to support the school with its next phase. This is fantastic news! 

Phase three of the school is due to begin in September. This will mean building a grade 5 classroom, a new library, a resource room, a director’s room, a guard’s room and two outdoor classrooms. In September we should have approximately 250 pupils and maybe more….

We’ve been busy behind the scenes, zooming with our colleagues in Ethiopia to support them with training and progress with the project. It’s been a challenging time but we’ve managed to keep moving forward.

At the moment we’re looking for organisations or individuals to sponsor our school uniforms. Artus Digital Marketing has kindly sponsored additional funding for this but we will need other sponsors if we are to kit out the whole school. If you know of anyone please get in touch.
